bermuda - love triangle
Bermuda_love_triangle_cover_full
Lovingly smitten with the Brit way of life, Bermuda is a sun ‘n’ seascape of cabana shorts, high tea, and croquet in the afternoon. Demure, tranquil, elegant, and sun-drenched - writer Mark Twain once said he would take Bermuda over heaven any day. Between shoreline horseback rides at dawn and midnight trysts at local moon gates, Bermuda sweeps even the most urban of babes off her feet.
the romance

Between private beach dinners and cabanas on stilts, Bermuda provides a tropic backdrop like no other. Terra-cotta sundecks, colonial pubs, and couple’s hot-stone massages make for a kick-back-and-relax environment that few others rival. Impeccable service (everything from customized menus, mood lighting, to your very own butler) summon feelings of absolute bliss. Tiki torches and garden labyrinths ignite the night while dolphins play and sweethearts dine on orange blossom panna cotta.
the scenery

Flushed pink sands and amorphous waters cradle this jewel of a hideaway. With more golf courses per square mile than anywhere else, Bermuda is a purveyor of leisure and indulgent dalliance. Here you’ll find boutiques replete with designer perfumes and porcelain, fine cashmeres and woolens, while many avid shoppers choose to peruse aboard slinky little mopeds. Refreshingly quiet with an emphasis placed on a sure-and-steady lifestyle, makes Bermuda one of the globe’s top destinations for shacked-up escapism.
the attractions

Dolphin and snorkel parks, fantastic sales-tax-free malls, and a dizzingly plentiful array of water sports make Bermuda anything but hum-drum. Artifact and shell exhibits, lush botanical gardens, and over eighty forts keep sightseers coming back for more. The highlight – Crystal and Fantasy Caves – an underground treasure chest of crystal stalactites and stalagmites formed around an azure lake, circa over 30 million years ago. Look for examples of the rare chandelier soda straw formation for a prime photo-op.
the adventure

First on the docket - spy on parrotfish off the reefs of the sunken 1860 ironclad, the HMS Vixen. Book a tour of some architectural wonders dating back to the piratey seventeenth century. Paddle out to Tobacco Bay by catamaran and snorkel to your heart’s content or ride the rails by the official Railway Trail line. The stimulus doesn’t stop there - rock climb, kayak, or simply sip a few dark ‘n’ stormys upon return to a clematis-clad hole-in-the-wall.
the secrets

Rich mussel pie and rum spiked chowder make a dip in a geodesic domed swimming pool a procrastinator’s affair. Chianti-glazed lips and rubbed red snapper fish are just sweet nibbles at the kind of high life Bermuda can offer. Keep an eye out for Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta sightings – or even book a suite at their elite ocean-view resort.
