The capturing of happy coupledom is of course, wedding photography’s wholesome purpose. Flaunting haute couture off the slinky bodies of grimacing models is naturally, fashion photography’s raison d’être. Merge the two styles together and you get an aesthetic unto itself, one that prides itself upon displaying nouveau trousseau with titled shoulders and a backdrop of unexpected edge, while never losing focus on the couple’s inimitable chemistry or love.
why your pictures will stun
Often, fashion photography employs lustful gazing, peculiar or glamorous locales, and some sort of accoutrement, like a feline or car, to create a storyline worthy of purchase. In the case of your wedding however, the love story’s already there and merchandising is a non-issue. You’ll simply end up with Vogue-level pics that project a greater sense of sincerity and intimacy than anything seen plastered upon a billboard.
Still, the accessories should remain a focal point (even stealing the scene from time to time), as fashion photography is forever about the haute stuff.
from the aisle to the runway with ease
Cameras are brutally honest, so if you’re uncomfortable or unconfident during your shoot, it’ll be written all over your album. For the best and breeziest results, sign up for an engagement session, where you and your man can pose in handsome yet unfussy garb and become acquainted with the photographer and his/her gizmo of choice. This will prepare you for the big day, when all inhibitions and self-imposed “rules” should be long since ditched. You’ll also learn to trust the photographer and your own imagination.
An easy-going, fun-loving and fearless attitude projected throughout both sessions will serve your photos well.

strike a pose proper
Chances are, your professional shutterbug will teach you to pose à la model, and while he/she should definitely be employed as a personal mirror, it can’t hurt to learn a few tricks of the trade before getting down and trendy.
First, relax your face and body while remaining conscious of posture and the expression in your eyes. Keep a long, slender neck, and position your shoulders at a slight angle, tilting them towards the paparazzo, er-camera. Exaggerate the lines and curves of your pose, and always, always exude a cosmopolitan confidence.
